In May, Yinhawangka’s newest Ranger recruits came together in Boorloo (Perth) for Ranger Recruitment Day, ahead of officially commencing the program in July.
The day focused on preparing recruits for the journey ahead, with participants supported through onboarding, program information and the first steps into the Yinhawangka Ranger Program.
As proud Yinhawangka people, the recruits are looking forward to deepening their knowledge of Country, strengthening cultural connections and contributing to the ongoing care and health of Yinhawangka lands.
Throughout the program, recruits will also have the opportunity to learn alongside Yinhawangka Elders and knowledge holders, gaining cultural knowledge and guidance while working on Country.
Over the next 12 months, recruits will gain nationally recognised training, build practical skills and spend time learning and working alongside the Yinhawangka Rangers team.
The program represents an exciting step forward for the next generation of Yinhawangka Rangers, creating opportunities for participants to strengthen their connection to Country while developing valuable experience for the future.
There was a strong sense of excitement and support throughout the day, with recruits already showing enthusiasm for the journey ahead. We look forward to watching each participant grow throughout the program and celebrating their achievements along the way.
