The Yinhawangka Aboriginal Corporation is proud to invite Yinhawangka women to a deeply significant cultural event — the first Yinhawangka Women’s Leadership Forum. Held off-Country at the tranquil Eight Willows Retreat in Margaret River, this five-day gathering offers space to rest, reconnect, and reimagine the future.
Why We’re Gathering
The forum is part of the Living Cultures Partnership, focusing on “Women’s Business” and creating opportunities for women to listen, speak, heal and lead. Together, participants will:
- Grow the women’s voice — building confidence and space to speak on what matters most
- Put children first — envisioning a culturally strong and opportunity-filled future
- Heal and unify after Native Title — acknowledging the past and embracing collective leadership
- Design women’s cultural futures — leading with intention, not defaulting to systems that don’t serve
What to Expect
Through a rich schedule of yarning circles, storytelling, ceremony, workshops, healing practices, and leadership sessions, this is more than a forum — it’s a call to shape the future of Women’s Business with culture at the core.

All Expenses Covered
To ensure accessibility for all Yinhawangka women, the forum covers:
- Travel to and from Margaret River
- Accommodation in private chalets at Eight Willows Retreat
- All meals and refreshments
- Cultural and leadership activities
- A $750 stipend
You only need to bring yourself, your stories, and your willingness to be part of something powerful.
Who Can Attend?
Spots are open to Yinhawangka women, with priority given to those in current leadership roles. The remaining places will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with a total of 22 rooms available.
Hosted on Wadandi Noongar Country
The forum takes place on the ancestral lands of the Wadandi Noongar people, with a Welcome to Country by a female Wadandi cultural custodian, and activities led by local cultural leaders including Koomal Dreaming.
