Yinhawangka Aboriginal Corporation is proud to celebrate Yinhawangka artist Maddie Cooke, whose artwork featured on the Paraburdoo Saints Football Club’s Indigenous Round jersey.
As both a talented local artist and a valued member of the Paraburdoo Saints Football Club, Maddie had the honour of presenting the jersey during the club’s Indigenous Round celebrations. The event also featured former AFL player Lewis Jetta, who joined the celebrations and recognised the significance of the occasion.
Maddie’s artwork reflects the themes of Country, family, community and friendship, sharing the stories and connections that are important to her and the Yinhawangka People. Maddie also shared that she creates her designs with the authority and support of her father, Marlon Cooke.
