Applications are now open for the Indigenous Australian Engineering School (IAES) 2026, a free week-long engineering camp for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 9–12.
Hosted by Curtin University and Engineering Aid Australia, IAES gives students the opportunity to explore engineering, STEM pathways and university life through hands-on activities, industry visits and cultural experiences.

12–18 July 2026
Who can apply?
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
- Years 9–12
- Students located in WA, NT and SA
What’s included?
- Flights and travel (where required)
- Accommodation
- Meals and snacks
- Supervision and support from Indigenous university students
- Hands-on engineering and STEM activities
- Industry and campus visits
Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to:
- Meet engineers and role models
- Explore Curtin University and engineering facilities
- Participate in practical engineering challenges
- Connect with other First Nations students interested in STEM
Scholarship opportunities are also available through Engineering Aid Australia for eligible students pursuing further education pathways.
