Three Yinhawangka artists recently completed a week-long Artist Residency in Fremantle, marking the final stage of the Developing Artists Program, delivered by the Yinhawangka Foundation in partnership with FORM.
Throughout the residency, Alissa Limerick, Deidre Flatfoot and Effie Injie explored new creative techniques, developed skills in photography, story-writing and artwork cataloguing, visited exhibitions featuring Aboriginal artists, and connected with other women working in the arts.
The artists produced an impressive 17 new artworks during the week, with participants describing the experience as inspiring, confidence-building and a chance to reconnect with their passion for painting.
Congratulations to Alissa, Deidre and Effie on their incredible achievements, and thank you to the Yinhawangka Foundation, FORM and everyone involved in delivering this wonderful opportunity.
