The Yinhawangka Foundation recently celebrated an important milestone with the launch of its first formal program – the Developing Artists Program.

Delivered in partnership with Living Cultures, FORM and professional artists, the workshops provided Yinhawangka People of all ages and skill levels with the opportunity to explore painting, creativity and storytelling in a culturally safe and supportive environment.

Held across communities throughout the Pilbara, the program encouraged artistic expression, cultural connection and confidence through creativity.

As Yinhawangka Foundation CEO Joanne Headlam shared, the initiative was designed to “nurture emerging talent while strengthening cultural pride and wellbeing.”

More than just art workshops, the program created opportunities for Yinhawangka People to connect, share stories and celebrate identity through creative practice.

The Foundation thanks all participants, facilitators and partners who helped bring the program to life and looks forward to supporting future creative opportunities for community.
